Scouting For Girls Singer Pens 'Amazing New Track' For One Direction

The song has been shortlisted for their forthcoming second album

One Direction's new music may well have a harder edge when they drop their second album later this year.
The band recently announced plans to release a follow up to debut Up All Night, with the ensuing Where We Are stadium tour expected to get under way in the new year.
But with the band still working their way through the US leg of their current Take me Home world tour, a team of songwriters are currently penning potential tracks for the long-player – amongst them a new song by Scouting for Girls frontman Roy Stride.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Stride admitted the song wasn't originally intended for One Direction.
“I don't think about who it's for, I've just got top write something that's amazing,” he said. “I've go a song which I don't know if it's going to make the final album, but it's on the shortlist. It's a song which wasn't written for them, but is probably one of the best songs I wrote last year.”

The singer also opened up about the pre-requisites needed to get a track onto the album.
“To get on a One Direction album – every single songwriter in the world wants to get on it – you've got to write an absolutely amazing song,” he said.
Stride previously worked with the boys when his track Stand Up was featured on the yearbook edition of Up All Night.
